Why Ride Morocco with Wheels of Morocco – Guided BMW Motorcycle Tours

Wheels of Morocco guided motorcycle group riding in the Atlas Mountains

There are plenty of ways to ride Morocco. You can ship your own bike, rent one and wing it, or join a big international operator that runs Morocco as one destination among thirty. We do one thing: guided motorcycle tours in Morocco, from our own base in Marrakech, on our own fleet. Here is what that means for you.

1. We live here

Wheels of Morocco is based in Marrakech, and every tour starts and ends there. Our guides speak Arabic, French, Italian and English, know the villages, the cafés and the mechanics along the route, and have scouted every piste we ride. That local knowledge is how we find tarmac and tracks other operators do not know exist, and how we change plan quickly when a pass closes or a river crossing floods.

You fly straight into Marrakech. No ferry, no 1,000 km transit through Spain, no bike to ship.

2. Official BMW Motorrad Travel Partner

We are an official BMW Motorrad Travel Partner. Our lead guides are BMW Motorrad certified tour guides, and on our off-road tours your lead guide is a BMW Motorrad certified off-road instructor. That matters most on day three of a desert crossing, when good coaching is the difference between fighting the sand and enjoying it.

3. Hotels you will remember, and dinner every night

We never go cheap on accommodation. Every night is in a hand-picked 4- or 5-star hotel, riad or luxury desert camp, and breakfast and dinner are included every single day. The only meal you pay for is lunch, usually at a small local café on the route.

4. Small groups, never more than 10 riders

We cap every group at 10 riders, with a guide on a bike and a support car behind. Small groups mean shorter fuel stops, flexible pacing, and a guide who actually knows how you ride by the second morning. On mixed-ability tours there is usually an easier alternative for a technical section.

5. Everything handled, so you just ride

Included on every tour
Motorcycle rental with comprehensive insurance Support car for luggage, tools and spares
4/5-star hotels and luxury desert camps Breakfast and dinner every day
BMW Motorrad certified guide on a bike Airport transfers in Marrakech
Welcome pack Professional photos and videos of your trip
Road tolls Full riding gear on request

Not included: flights, lunches and drinks, fuel, travel insurance and optional activities such as camel or dune-buggy rides.

6. A fleet for every rider

Choose from the KTM 390 Adventure, Yamaha Ténéré 700, KTM 890 Adventure or BMW R1250GS. The lighter bikes suit tighter roads and newer off-road riders; the GS is the pick for two-up touring. All are maintained in our own workshop between tours. On selected tarmac tours you can also bring your own bike. See the fleet.

7. Passengers welcome

Pillions are welcome on our tours, either on the back or riding along in the support car. Couples are some of our most loyal returning guests.

8. Photos and videos of your ride

Our guides photograph and film the group throughout the tour and share the pictures with you. You get to ride instead of stopping for selfies, and you go home with shots of yourself on the Dades hairpins or in the dunes.

9. Riders keep coming back

We are rated 4.9 out of 5 from more than 360 reviews on Google, Tripadvisor and Facebook, and we have won a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award. Many riders come back for a second or third tour, often on a harder route. Read what they say on our reviews page.
