Off the beaten path, and then some.
The Atlas is Morocco’s most spectacular and inspiring landscape. To truly experience all it has to offer, you need an adventure motorcycle. This eight-day tour is designed for experienced riders and takes you to places few will ever get to see, for an adventure you’ll never forget. After exploring the dirt trails of cedar forests and mineral mines, we start our adventure into the Atlas along rural dirt tracks. We then explore the winding roads of the Dades and Todra valleys before climbing to nearly 3000 meters through jaw-dropping scenery.
Exhilarating switchbacks and mountain passes lead us to the blue waters of lake Bin el Ouidane where you can relax and reflect on the sights and thrills of the past few days. Some highlights of the trip include the Todra and Dades valleys, rural mountain dirt tracks and Bin el Ouidane lake.
Day 1 : Arrival
Arrival to Marrakesh. Transfer to your hotel, where you will be able to settle in and relax by the pool to prepare for your trip the next morning. You will meet the team and the rest of the tour group and go through a welcome briefing, and you will receive your welcome pack.
Day 2 : Marrakesh – Bin El Ouidane (approx. 200 km)
In the morning you will be transferred to our workshop for the bike hand-over and formalities before hitting the road towards Bin El Ouidane. We will head to the High Atlas on large national roads to warm up so you can get used to your bike as well as local driving habits before tackling the winding mountain roads that will provide an excellent insight to the great riding Morocco has to offer. We visit the scenic waterfalls of Ouzoud, where we will have some time to do a short walk around. Our stop for the night will be in a nice hotel on the border of the lake where you can relax by the pool or discuss the first day at the bar.
Day 3 : Bin El Ouidane – Azrou (approx. 270 km)
We will leave the hotel in the morning and start our climb into the mountains with magnificent views of the lake beneath and the pine forests. We will tackle plenty of twists and turns before commencing a slow descent towards Khenifra, which will be our lunch stop for the day. From Khenifra, we will turn east and climb through the Azigza National Park, which offers a great setting. The road gets narrower and eventually turns into gravel tracks that zigzag through the Ifrane National Park, all the way to our hotel, located on the edge of Africa’s largest cedar forest. As this area is home to the infamous Barbary Apes, we will hopefully see them around while riding through the forests.
Day 4 : Azrou – Midelt (approx. 130 km)
Before heading up to the plateau of the Atlas and the town of Midelt we start our day with a mild off-road through the cedar forests to discover the beauty of the area and spot the Barbary apes living there. We then take the beautiful road to climb up the mountain range to arrive in Midelt around lunchtime. Following our lunch break we will hop on the bikes to tackle some off-road sections and visit the mineral mines in the region.
Day 5 : Midelt – Agoudal (approx. 200 km)
We start our day on the nice winding roads of the Atlas through long straights and sweepers until the town of Er-Rich where we take a turn towards the higher peaks of the mountain range though the gravel roads towards the Cirque de Jaffar, one of the most epic tracks in the Atlas. We will ride on smaller roads and dirt tracks until we descend to the village of Agoudal where we will spend the night.
Day 6 : Agoudal – Skoura (approx. 200 km)
As we will leave Agoudal and head towards Boumalne Dades. We will start the day with rocky tracks and some beautiful off-road ride up to nearly 3,000 metres, offering unique scenery and an epic ride. We will then hit the main national road where real fun begins. We will ride on the wonderful winding roads of the Dades valley where there will be plenty of opportunities for photo stops. This motorcycle ride will take us through the most photographed switchbacks of Morocco. From there we will continue our journey through battered road sections that will turn into gravel roads and then some more tarmac before reaching our lodging in the oasis of Skoura.
Day 7 : Skoura – Marrakesh (approx. 270 km)
The great motorcycle adventure continues as we ride through the small winding roads of the Atlas towards Marrakesh. We will tackle switchbacks and turns as we ride mostly above 2,000 metres before hitting some untouched off-road tracks high up in the mountains, with sheep drops and stunning landscapes. Once in Marrakech, we will head to our HQ to return the bikes. You will then be taken back to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the evening rewinding the best moments of the trip or you can decide to take the time to explore the city. This will be the last opportunity to invite your guide for a drink at the bar.

ExcellentBased on 111 reviewspeebee9992023-06-11Atlas & Sahara Excellent all around!!! Great roads, great scenery, great accommodation, great company, and our two hosts Abdoul and Amine were fantastic. Definitely a trip to try and on Europe's doorstep. I would highly recommend!!!Travellers292023-06-03Atlas & Desert Tour April 2023 This tour exceeded my expectations in all respects. I chose Wheels of Morocco based on various factors including their professional and informative website, itinerary, maximum group size, the fact that the company is based in Morocco, and the multitudes of good reviews on Tripadvisor. WOM did not disappoint, from my initial enquiries and communication with Viki (who always answered extremely quickly) right through to the end of the trip. Everything was well organized and my bike was in excellent condition and faultless throughout the tour. All accommodation was of a very high standard. Abdou our guide and Amine the support truck driver were very informative, personable and always happy to help. The tour was well structured so there was plenty of riding time but you also arrived at your accommodation each day in plenty of time to relax/swim etc. before dinner. The variety of landscapes we saw over 7 days of riding was amazing. I also liked that we stopped at local and smaller restaurants/cafes for coffee breaks and lunches rather than big establishments catering for mass tourism. If you're looking to ride a motorbike in Morocco on a tour with a great itinerary, professional guides, excellent accommodation and quality bikes and support, then WOM is a great choice.Peter Labadie2023-03-28Challenging Roads Had an amazing time riding offroad in Morocco. Greg and Abdou were terrific guides, we stayed in outstanding accommodations, and the riding was as challenging as promised. Learned a lot from Greg about riding in deep sand, despite my occasional tipovers! If you’re thinking about riding Morocco, this is the crew to ride with!Adam H2023-03-27Challenging Roads Absolutely awesome adventure riding experience that explores Morocco through different terrains. The trip was well planned and well supported by the team leading the expedition with recovery vehicle, tools and spares for any unforeseen mishaps. The motorcycles were all new and in excellent condition. All accommodations were most likely the most luxurious that could be found in each place we stopped, with the occasional spas and with fantastic food. The routes chosen by the guides has been scrutinized over years of experience on the roads of Morocco to give a truly unique way to experience what Morocco has to offer. Highly Recommendedangus2023-01-03Just Brilliant!! I was fortunate enough to do the Challenging Roads tour with Wheels of Morocco in December and it was simply BRILLIANT. Everything was top notch - the bikes, the country, the people, the food, the accommodation and the routes we followed…..and it simply would not have been the same without our leader, Greg, and support driver Abdoul, who were just fantastic. Overall a brilliant experience and one I would recommend to anyone.Dan L2022-11-01Outstanding Adventure across the Atlas Mountains Great bikes, awesome terrain and excellent company. Greg and his team are a safe pair of hands with excellent knowledge of the country. They put together an effortless private package for us, which enabled us to see so much in a short space of time. We went from the bustle of Marrakech to the remote wilds of the Atlas Mountains covering vastly varying terrain. Passing through remote passes and staying in remote villages steeped in history. Simply put it was an outstanding adventure, thank you.Loz2022-10-30re-booked already! What a great trip! WoM know the country inside-out. Organisation, leadership and support was second-to-none. Greg and Abdou make a great team. Morocco has it all; great roads, incredible scenery, good food and friendly people. The tour took in so many landscapes; cedar forests, the stunning mountainscape and of course the desert, which really was something else. The roads are mostly super grippy new tarmac, with plenty of twisties and flowing bends. Already re-booked for a long weekend tour for next spring!Chris On The Road2022-10-29Desert and Atlas Tour I've been organising my own tours for many years but thought I'd give a guided tour a try, I'm glad I did. Morocco is an amazing country with some of the best roads I've ever ridden and I've ridden all over the world. Viktoria handled the booking, payment and communication really well, Abdou took care of the logistics and called the airport a dozen times until they found my lost luggage (thanks again) and Greg was a great guide, photographer and tour leader. I have a GS at home so opted for a Tenere 700 which turned out to be a great choice, quick enough for Morocco and very agile. We rode mountain passes as good as any you'd find in The Alpes, through forests and of course the desert which was my personal favourite. The diversity of the roads and landscapes you experience in 7 days is truly amazing. The hotels were comfortable and had lots of character, the food was great and even if we were in a "dry hotel" Abdou would always manage to find us beer somewhere! I loved every minute of the trip and will very likely be back to do the Challenging Roads tour. Thanks guys, hopefully see you again soon.Dave W2022-10-29Great biking trip. Great trip, fantastic roads and scenery and very well run. Greg can sometimes be a bit blunt but on a trip like this you need clear direction and leadership and he does that very well. Enjoyed the trip and the company of our fellow travellers, so much so we'll be booking again next year.Dave B2022-10-135 stars for a good reason I can’t say enough good things about this tour or the company that runs it. It’s well organized and communication with the company is excellent, I found any questions I had were answered promptly and there was a lot of helpful information passed along that made getting paperwork and luggage packed much easier. The bikes are top notch and well maintained both before and during the ride. Accommodations were fantastic and the food stops during the day were great and provided a great feel for local culture and cuisine. The route was so much fun with amazing scenery and that provided miles of smiles. This is the perfect way to get your feet wet if you’ve never toured outside of your home country. Stop wondering if this is for you and start booking. The only adventure you regret is the one you don’t take.
