Guided Motorbike Tours in Morocco

Required experience:Riders with some experience
Highlights:Imperial cites of Fes and Marrakesh, Cedar of Africa and Barbary Apes, Dades Valley, a night in a camp in the dunes of the Sahara Desert, crossing the High Atlas, Ouarzazate the movie capital of Morocco, Essaouira

During this motorbike trip you will experience the best roads and most spectacular places Morocco can offer. You will ride through the rolling hills of the Atlas Mountains, experience the winding roads on the cliffs of the coast, and relax on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean enjoying fresh seafood in the magical city of Essaouira while watching the sunset above the never-ending waves. We will spend a night in a luxury desert camp between the dunes of the Sahara, ride through the breath-taking valleys of Dades and Todra, visit the movie capital of Ouarzazate and discover the imperial city of Fes and Marrakesh.

Day 1 : Arrival
Arrival to Marrakesh. Transfer to your hotel, where you will be able to settle in and relax by the pool to prepare for your trip the next morning. You will meet your tour guide and go through a short briefing session as well as the formalities required before the start and you will receive your welcome pack.

Day 2 : Marrakesh – Bin El Ouidane (approx. 190 km)
You will receive your BMW bikes early in the morning before starting our journey towards Bin El Ouidane. We will head towards the High Atlas on normal roads to warm up so you can get used to your bike as well as local driving habits before tackling the winding mountain roads that will provide an excellent insight to the great riding Morocco has to offer. We visit the scenic waterfalls of Ouzoud, where we will have some time to do a short walk around. Our stop for the night will be in a nice hotel on the border of the lake where you can relax by the pool or discuss the first day at the bar.

Day 3 : Bin El Ouidane – Fes (approx. 380 km)
We will leave the hotel in the morning and start our climb into the mountains with magnificent views of the lake beneath and the pine forests. We will tackle plenty of twists and turns before commencing a slow descent towards Khenifra, which will be our lunch stop for the day. From Khenifra, we will turn east and climb through the Azigza National Park, which offers a great setting. Our stop for the night will be in a fine hotel in the centre of the city where we will have the opportunity for a tour in the old medina and get a taste of Moroccan food.

Day 4: Fes – Azrou (approx. 100 km)
After breakfast we will have opportunity to visit the imperial city of Fes. Around midday, we’ll start our ascent of the Middle-Atlas and arrive to our hotel near Azrou where you will have plenty of opportunities to feed the monkeys that live in the cedar forests of the area and visit the Cedar of Africa.

Day 5: Azrou – Errachidia (approx. 260 km)
We will start the day with riding through the forests where we’ll have the opportunity to admire the quiet setting and maybe feed the Barbary Apes that live in the area. We will then tackle the climbing roads of the Middle-Atlas passing the high plateau of the mountain range. We will go through the French Foreign Legion tunnel towards Errachidia, the infamous old Dakar town, before reaching our accommodation for the night. You will likely see relics of Dakar – posters and stickers on garage walls – this part of Africa really misses Dakar as it became a way of life here and a cash generator.

Day 6: Errachidia – Merzouga (approx. 130 km)
Today we will start our ride to the Sahara Desert. Our stop for the day will be a fine hotel in Merzouga where we will stop for a short break and leave the bikes to climb aboard the 4×4 of our guide who will take us to our camp in the dunes of the Sahara. We will admire the sunset from the dunes before dinner and then you will be able to admire the desert skyline at night. Note that in case of a rare sandstorm, we will likely remain at the hotel which offers a more comfortable setting.

Day 7: Merzouga – Boumalne Dadès (approx. 220 km)
Wakeup call will come early today as we’ll climb the dunes before sunrise to admire the unique effects from atop the dunes before our early breakfast. We will then have a guided tour aboard the 4×4 to visit the dunes and the sights around the area, including the coal and crystal mines. We will pick up our bikes at the hotel and will head to the rock of the Mummy for some off-road riding and to admire the view of the desert from the top of the rocks that offer a unique sight known to only a few. Or route will take us through deserted landscapes before heading to the Todra valley to ride beneath the huge cliffs that offer a unique scenery. We will spend the night at the feet of the Atlas range in a fine hotel.

Day 8: Rest day in Boumalne Dadès – optional program: Trekking in the Dades Valley

Day 9: Boumalne Dadès – Ouarzazate (approx. 180 km)
Despite the short daily distance, the riding will be exceptional. We will start our day by climbing the most photographed hairpins in Morocco in the Dades valley. A relatively short bike ride will take us to our lodging for this evening where you can enjoy a drink by the pool while taking in the wonderful sight of the lake. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit the Kasbah of Ouarzazate, the movie studios, the scenes of The Game of Thrones and wonder around the many local souvenir shops. Excellent local dishes will be served for dinner.

Day 10: Ouarzazate – Taroudant (approx. 290 km)
Today we will pass the lower edge of the Atlas mountain range through some stunning roads towards our destination. In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit the special medina of Taroudant. Our stop for the day will be in a riyadh in the village of Taroudant, where you can take a nice walk and there would be great opportunity to buy some Argan oil and the legendary Moroccan saffron growing around this area.

Day 11: Taroudant – Agadir (approx. 120 km)
Today’s ride will take us on one of the most amazing coastal roads of Morocco. We will ride through the Souss-Massa National Park. The afternoon we will arrive to our Paradise, a fantastic surf and yoga retreat hotel with beautiful SPA facilities and on-site surf school.

Day 12: Agadir – Essaouira (approx. 150 km)
A nice coastal ride will take us to our next stop. Our ride will take us through smaller country roads before arriving to the laidback coastal town of Essaouira. The afternoon we will visit Essaouira, exceptional example of a late-18th-century fortified town, built according to the principles of contemporary European military architecture in a North African context and the favourite city of Bob Marley. You will have the chance to explore the old medina, walk on the wide sandy beach, make a nice Segway ride or enjoy the laid-back souks and stellar seafood.

Day 13: Essaouira – Marrakesh (approx. 220 km)
Our next day will we descend to the vast planes that lay between the Atlas and the Atlantic Ocean. Upon our arrival to our hotel in Marrakech you will hand over the bikes before heading to the city to explore the medina with its souks and the vibrant Jamaa el Fna place with its snake charmers and food stalls.

Day 14: Departure
Depending on your flight time, you might take the opportunity to relax or visit the city before the arranged pick-up takes you to the airport.

Best Adventure on 2 Wheels Just finished 1 month in Morocco (Marrakesh). I picked up a BMW 1250GS (Wheels of Morroco’s) with 3949km on the clock and returned with 9085. Total is 5136km / 3192 miles or just over 125 miles a day. That may not seem like much but check out the attached Big Bikes Little Goat Trail video. I took 3 tours, the Challenging Roads tour pushed me passed my comfort zone, thus ADVENTURE ! Riding part of the old Paris-Dakar track on big trail bikes... Through the desert, in the middle of nowhere ? OMG, deep sand on a 1250GS is so much fun but watch out for that Camel Grass and remember keep your head up focusing on future pathways. Now the views are great, check the photos. Here are my recommendations- BESTS. Best Rides: OMG so many great BESTS to list, Tarmac- Up COL Du TICHKA pass from Marrakesh day 1 Challenging Roads Caution the clouds/fog can almost cover the road. Adventure- crossing desert to Foum Zguid day 3 Challenging Roads, Coolest- to Taourirt day 4 Challenging Roads, Best Hotel- El Malara thanks to Bernadette & Jean, Best Tour Guide- Greg Fatrai, Greg specks many languages including Arabic, French, English, Hungarian and can cuss in many more 😉 and oh yes he can ride ! Best Support Team Lead- Abdou he can be hard on equipment and yes he did help me pick up my bike in the sand. Best Tour Rider- Brett M., Tour Jester- TDB but Gandalf is running in first place. If your truly looking for a Moto Adventure you have to consider this one.

Weekend training and ride If you want to experience Morocco in the best way possible, consider doing it on two wheels. The roads around the country are great, but getting off road is even better. Desert, mountains, ocean...it's all beautiful. On this trip our group only had time for a weekend getaway, but we are already hoping to arrange another adventure this year. Greg and Viki helped our group organize a day of mixed training and riding, and then an all day ride. Just tell them what you want, what your riding abilities are, and you're sure to end up with an incredible experience. Leave yourself plenty of time though; Morocco is quite a large country and each area is unique. Despite the pandemic, travel around Morocco was safe and no problem. Just check on any current restrictions and the guides will be able to help arrange details.

Magnifique voyage Maginifique voyage avec Wheel of Morocco.

Long weekend We had a fabulous long weekend in late October. It was the first long trip for my wife as pillion and we both had a fabulous time all helped by the highly professional approach of Greg and Viktoria who are delightful. The route was well planned, riding at our own pace with great accommodation at each destination. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for our lovely hosts who looked after us extremely well including a very efficient transfer from/to the airport. We plan to come back for a longer trip!

That's why I go for a ride with professionals We had a 3 day long weekend with Wheels of Morocco. Professional organization, super rides, BMW bikes and superb accommodations featured days spent together. Aside from riding, there is time every day to see the sights in the city. We've had a lifetime of experience, and we're sure we'll go riding them again. Thanks to Greg and Viki 3 napos hosszú hétvégén vettünk részt a Wheels of Morocco-val.

7 AMAZING days of riding in Morocco!! My husband and I spend seven amazing days on a private tour during our honeymoon touring the beautiful roads of Morocco having the time of our lives. Wheels spend extra time and energy making sure we had upgraded accommodations and many special touches for our honeymoon ride. The bikes were in great shape, the food and accommodations spectacular, and the route well planned. Our guide, Dimitry, was especially FABULOUS! He is a very experienced rider who helped make us feel comfortable riding on the hectic Moroccan roads and even gave us a few pointers. Some of the many benefits of a tour with Wheels is they have spent years scouting out the best roads, building relationships with local hotels and restaurants, and understand local language and customs. We've been home for two days and are already dreaming about our next trip! Thanks Dims and Wheels for a GREAT trip! L & G
